Description
This quick almond and cranberry Florentines recipe makes crispy and golden bites of delight. The combination of almonds, dried cranberries and orange zest makes this dessert unique and the chocolate on top make them perfect for fancy tea time gatherings.

Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 160 degree C fan-forced (180 degree C conventional). Grease 2 baking trays and line with baking paper.
- Combine almonds, cranberries, flour and orange zest in a large mixing bowl.
- Melt the butter, sugar and golden syrup in a small saucepan over low heat, stirring to dissolve the sugar. Bring to the boil and add to the dry ingredients. Stir and mix evenly.
- Place tablespoonfuls of the mixture onto the baking trays about 8cm apart and flatten slightly to about 6 cm in diameter. Bake for 10-12 minutes until a deep golden color all over. Cool on the trays until set, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Melt the chocolate. Dip the flat base into the chocolate, or use a teaspoon to spread it over the bases and place chocolate side up onto a wire rack to set.
